In the early 2000s, cigar and cocktail aficionados in Phoenix faced a dilemma: enjoy a premium cigar in the comfort of a smoke shop or sip a well-crafted cocktail at a bar — but rarely both under the same roof. This compromise was frustrating for those who appreciated the finer things, and it inspired a bold vision. Our mission was clear from the beginning: to create Phoenix’s premier destination where guests could indulge in both their love for cigars and their passion for expertly made drinks — all in one welcoming, elevated space.
We took our first step toward this vision in 2005, starting modestly with a small, unassuming bar nestled in the corner of our smoke shop. Though simple in appearance, the concept was met with overwhelming enthusiasm. Word spread quickly, and our establishment soon became a cornerstone of the local cigar and cocktail culture — a gathering place for connoisseurs and curious newcomers alike.
In 2006, our momentum faced a major obstacle. Arizona voters passed a statewide smoking ban that threatened the very foundation of our business. But rather than accept defeat, we stood our ground and mounted a legal challenge. Since tobacco sales comprised more than 50.1% of our total revenue, we believed — and rightly so — that we qualified for an exemption under the law. We first took our case to Maricopa County Superior Court, where the initial ruling did not fall in our favor. Undeterred, we appealed to the Arizona Court of Appeals, which reversed the decision. Ultimately, the Arizona Supreme Court upheld the ruling, affirming our right to operate as a cigar bar. After a two-year legal battle, our mission not only survived — it was vindicated.
Our victory didn’t just benefit us. It paved the way for a new generation of cigar lounges throughout the Phoenix area, helping to shape a culture where the enjoyment of fine cigars and premium beverages could thrive together legally and respectfully.
Today, our establishment stands as a proud testament to perseverance, craftsmanship, and community. We’ve grown into a destination that seamlessly blends sophistication with comfort. Our 450-square-foot walk-in humidor houses over 1,000 carefully curated cigars, featuring both established legends and boutique favorites from around the world.
